St Clare's is the only Girls High School in the district, equipping girls for a productive role in the modern world by producing a safe, loving environment in which they can grow spiritually, academically, emotionally and socially.

Established in 2001, St. Clare’s Girls High School is a non-profit school located in Budaka district in Eastern Uganda, about 18 kilometers southwest of Mbale. St Clare's is the only girls high school in the district and provides excellent education where few opportunities exist for girls. Global trends indicate that approximately 130 million children worldwide are not being educated and 75% of them are girls. Sub-Saharan Africa, among other regions of the world, leads the gender gap discrepancies in education where more than 30 million girls are dropping out of schools every year that unfolds as compared to boys.
